Scrapbook Generation Blog Hop

Welcome to the SG Blog Hop for December, if this is your first stop, you might like to start at the Scrapbook Generation blog and then hop through each link.

Hello everyone!  I can't believe it's already time for the blog hop again!  Today I am sharing 2 layouts that I did using the Day1 and Day2 layouts from the February 2013 Super Sketch Club kit.  You can find these layouts on the Scrapbook Generation website.

For the Day 1 layout, I used the "Simply Perfect" layout option by Debbie Sanders featuring (4) 6x4 photos in the layout.  I followed this one fairly close but used (4) 4x3 photos to work better on the 8.5x11 pages.  I also added a 4x6 in place of having a little more open space on the page.   The  titles, flower embellishments, and journaling were shifted to accommodate my picture selection.

For the Day 2 layout, I used "The Best Day Ever" layout option by Allison Davis.  I followed the general layout for the paper portion, but decided to create an extra flag and spread the four between two pages to accommodate my picture selections, which ended up being nothing like the layout!  Each side has a focal 4x6 photo with 6 2x2 photos accompanying the larger photo.  This makes 14 pictures on an 8.5x11  double page layout!

You can find the SG sketches in their books and as downloads in the SG store, and there is a free one every month in case you wanted to try it out.

Next on the hop is Melissa - http://www.scrappyjedi.com/.  Leave a comment on each blog and one lucky commenter will receive a free sketch bundle of their choice from the store. The winner will be draw on December 9th, so you have one week to leave a comment.

Scrapbook Generation Blog Hop

Welcome to the SG Blog Hop for September, if this is your first stop, you might like to start at the Scrapbook Generation blog and then hop through each link.

Hello all!  My name is Janelle and I am very excited to share with my results using sketches and kits from Scrapbook Generation and making them work for me in 8 1/2 x 11 format.  I am new to blogging so it may take me awhile to make my blog look a little more exciting, but for now I think I can do the basics!  I apologize if I've messed up any of the links to be included here!

I took the Sketch Support class about 3 years ago and started getting the Super Sketch Club mailed to my door in March of 2011.  I have been totally hooked ever since.

Today I am sharing a layout I did from the March 2011 Super Sketch Club.

It pretty closely follows the sketch but I flip-flopped the pages as I liked it better for the pictures I had.  I created a new title using the original title piece.  I pretty much size everything down to work on my 8.5x11 layout.  I occasionally will use a 4x6 photo, but mostly will use 3x4 and wallet-size so I can still get a number of photos on the page.

You can find the SG sketches in their books and as downloads in the SG store, and there is a free one every month in case you wanted to try it out.

Next on the hop is Nicole - http://lovemesomepaper.blogspot.com/, leave a comment on each blog and one lucky commenter will receive a free sketch bundle of their choice from the store. The winner will be draw on September 9th, so you have one week to leave a comment.

ScrapyLand Sketch Challenge

Welcome to my first post!  I am going to take a quick stab at this and show what I did for the recent ScrapyLand sketch challenge.  Here is the sketch (PageMaps) that was provided:

I rotated the sketch once to the right, then added a mirror image page to stretch the 1-page 12x12 sketch into a 2-page 8.5x11 layout.    I also fell in love with the colors in the Project Life Core Kit – Rain Edition, so you can see how I used some of the elements from the kit, making them work for me in my 8.5x11 world!  And here are my results:

Thanks for joining me today!   Janelle
